Let’s discuss antidepressants and their EFFECT on people. These medical drugs are the gold standard for the modern psychiatrists.
Antidepressants are the first-line treatment for mentally depressed people meeting current diagnostic criteria for major disorders.
Most antidepressants are designed to regulate the brain neurotransmitter serotonin which is a biochemical found in plants, animals, and mushrooms.
Many adaptive processes are regulated by serotonin, such as emotions, mental development, neuronal growth and death, platelet activation and the clotting process, attention, electrolyte balance and reproduction.
Because serotonin regulates many adaptive processes, antidepressants COULD HAVE MANY SERIOUS ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS.
For example, while antidepressants are somewhat effective in reducing depressive symptoms (not the actual cause of depression), they increase the brain’s susceptibility to future episodes of being depressed AFTER they have been discontinued.
Contrary to a widely held belief in psychiatry, studies that aim to show that antidepressants promote neurogenesis are flawed because they all use a method that cannot, by itself, distinguish between neurogenesis and neuronal death.
In fact, ANTIDEPRESSANTS CAUSE neuronal damage and mature neurons to revert to an immature state, both of which may explain why antidepressants also cause neurons to undergo apoptosis, which is programmed death.
Antidepressants are also responsible for causing developmental problems, they have adverse effects on SEXUAL and ROMANTIC LIFE by completely KILLING your sexual desires, and they increase the risk of hyponatremia (low sodium in the blood plasma), bleeding, stroke and death in the elderly.
This review confirms the conclusion that antidepressants cause more harm than good by disrupting a number of vital processes regulated by the neurotransmitter serotonin.
Next time you are feeling sad or depressed, MAKE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE AROUND and address THE CAUSE OF YOUR DEPRESSION, don’t try and remove the symptoms with antidepressants as that is a bad long term solution.
If you are feeling unhappy about your job, you should change careers. Better yet, start your own business. There is nothing more satisfying working for yourself. If your woman has left you, realize that this happens more than ever in the Western world especially.
Women should never be the focus of your happiness, otherwise you are going to be disappointed. Derive your happy state from being healthy (hit the gym and ride your bike), EAT WHOLE AND UNPROCESSED FOODS.
Drink pure spring water free of industrial chemicals such as sodium fluoride and chlorine.
I stopped drinking fluoridated tap water and using fluoride toothpaste in 2010 and my teeth have NEVER BEEN HEALTHIER OR STRONGER.
Chewing COCA LEAF has also helped me avoid any dental caries as its rich in vitamins and has the highest calcium content of any food on earth.
Stop watching television which robs you off your time and brainwashes you.
The news and media tend to show upsetting and depressing news, this is by design.
And lastly, travel the world and see how other people who have much less than you are so much happier at the same time.
Be sure to keep an active lifestyle. Hit the gym, do some pull ups, go bike riding and hiking in the mountains.
Staying active boosts your serotonin levels.
There are also studies that show people need two to three days in nature to become stress free.
Head out for a camping trip to a forest, swim in the ocean or go for a short holiday into the woodlands.
You can also try natural antidepressant foods and supplements that are proven to be safe.
Omega 3 Fats – get these from foods such as raw salmon and tuna, as well as sardines and mackerel.
Deficiency in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which is found in Omega 3 fats, is linked to depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Tryptophan – Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that’s a precursor to serotonin and melatonin.
Tryptophan exists in animal protein-rich foods like meat and eggs, but the actual protein blocks the synthesis of tryptophan by the body.
Tryptophan supplements work better to increase the levels of tryptophan. FYI: Do NOT take supplemental tryptophan along with antidepressants prescribed by a doctor.
Kava – is a relaxing drink used in south Pacific islands such as Fiji for many centuries. It helps with sleep disorders and as a natural remedy for anxiety.
Kava also has been found to be an effective alternative to antidepressants.
Coca Tea – coca leaves have been brewed as tea and chewed with an alkalizing substance for over 7000 years in South America.
It provides a natural boost of energy, stops hunger, thirst, headaches, burns fat and can alleviate mild depression symptoms.
Coca tea is non addictive and can be used daily during stressful times and hard labor work.
St. John’s Wort – is one of the most popular natural herb antidepressants. It scores favorably even against numerous prescribed antidepressant medications. However, it can make a birth control pill less effective for women.
5-HTP – has been proven to raise serotonin levels in the brain. In young adults who suffer stress or anxiety, taking 5-HTP for 6 weeks has decreased anxiety in 3 weeks by increasing serotonin levels.
Before taking any of the above supplements for mild or severe depression, please consult your doctor. Medications and supplements can interact, therefore, it’s important that you are aware of all the possible outcomes, positive and negative.
